Psychotherapy (Children, Adolescents, Adults and Elderly)
“Psychotherapy is the informed and intentional application of clinical methods and interpersonal stances derived from established psychological principles for the purpose of assisting people to modify their behaviors, cognitions, emotions, and/or other personal characteristics in directions that the participants deem desirable” (APA, 2012).
Psychotherapy seeks to increase the well-being and mental health of each individual, to resolve or mitigate unwanted behaviors, beliefs, compulsions, thoughts or emotions and improve relationships and social functioning.
The following modalities are offered:
- Individual Therapy (Children, Adolescents, Adults and Elderly)
- Couples Therapy
- Family Therapy
Psychometric Evaluations Assessments (Children, Adolescents, Adults)
Several tests are used to provide information about a person's cognitive abilities (e.g. intelligence), their strengths and their areas for improvement. They are commonly requested as a requirement of admission to schools, to receive a service, etc.
Psychological Evaluations (Adults)
Personality tests, intelligence tests, attitudes tests are used, as well as information obtained through interviews. They are commonly requested for treatment and diagnostic purposes.
