Subspecialty in Geriatric Psychiatry. Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
El Dr. William Julio obtuvo su título de médico en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Central del Caribe en Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
Completó un internado rotatorio y una residencia en Psiquiatría General en el Centro Médico Cabrini/Facultad de Medicina Mount Sinai en Nueva York, donde fue Jefe de Residentes. Posteriormente, completó una subespecialidad en Psiquiatría Geriátrica en el Hospital y Centro Médico Saint Vincent/New York Medical College. Es Diplomado de la Academia Americana de Analistas de la Discapacidad y de la Academia Americana de Psiquiatría y Neurología, certificado en Psiquiatría con especialización en Psiquiatría Geriátrica. También fue elegido miembro distinguido de la junta directiva de la Asociación Americana de Psiquiatría. El Dr. Julio es miembro y ha presidido varias asociaciones profesionales, incluyendo la Academia de Psiquiatría de Puerto Rico y la Sociedad Puertorriqueña de Psiquiatría, Rama Distrital de la APA. Además, ha participado activamente en la Asociación Americana de Psiquiatría Geriátrica. El Dr. William Julio ha participado en numerosos congresos y simposios científicos como conferencista y ha estado involucrado como investigador principal en decenas de ensayos de investigación clínica en las áreas de Trastornos de Ansiedad Generalizada, Esquizofrenia, Trastornos Esquizoafectivos, Bipolaridad, Depresión y Trastornos Neurocognitivos, debidos a la Enfermedad de Alzheimer o Parkinson.
Karen Y. Pujals Morales, PHD
Dr. Karen Pujals completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus.
She completed her Clinical Neuropsychology internship at University District Hospital (UDH), Department of Neurology (Medical Sciences Campus in Río Piedras, P.R.). She also completed postdoctoral studies in Neuropsychology at Fielding Graduate University (New York, N.Y. Cohort).
She has conducted research and presentations related to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, as well as research on Depression in older adults. She is currently working as a sub-investigator in several clinical trials related to Alzheimer’s, Depression, and Bipolar Disorder. Dr. Pujals also performs clinical and cognitive screening evaluations.
Ha realizado investigaciones y presentaciones relacionadas a Alzheimer y Parkinson, al igual que investigaciones sobre Depresión en personas de edad avanzada. Se encuentra trabajando actualmente como subinvestigadora en varios ensayos clínicos relacionados a Alzheimer, Depresión y Bipolaridad. La Dra. Pujals además realiza evaluaciones de cernimiento clínico y cognitivo.
Researcher
Eneida M. De La Torre Lugo is a certified dermatologist. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Biology.
Subsequently, she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the School of Medicine at the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. De La Torre completed her residency in Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology of the School of Medicine at the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. De La Torre is an Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine of the Central University of the Caribbean and an Honorary Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the School of Medicine of the University of Puerto Rico. Throughout her career, she has published numerous scientific articles and actively participates in clinical research projects in the areas of medical and cosmetic dermatology. She served as president of the Puerto Rico Dermatological Society. Currently, she practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology for both adults and children at her private practice, DLT Dermatology, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Dr. De La Torre also provides services at the Dr. Ramón Ruiz Arnau University Hospital.
Horacio F. Daubón, MD
Dr. Daubón earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He completed his internship in internal medicine and his residency in neurology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He subsequently completed his subspecialty in Clinical Neurology and Epilepsy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Daubón has participated in numerous scientific conferences and symposia. He has also served as a sub-investigator in dozens of clinical trials on epilepsy, migraine, and dementia.
Gabriel Arias, MD
El Dr. Gabriel Arias Berrios es un dermatólogo certificado por la Junta Médica de San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, followed by a residency in Dermatology at the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident.
Since his dermatology certification in 2023, Dr. Arias Berrios has been a dedicated member of the American Academy of Dermatology. His clinical and academic interests include cutaneous lymphomas, psoriasis, and complex medical dermatology.
He has published numerous articles, especially on mycosis fungoides and psoriasis, contributing to the advancement of dermatological knowledge and patient care.
